Took 1st at the Old Appalachian Invitiational...finished first at the King of
the Mat...finished first at the Fandetti-Richardson Brawl...surpassed the 175
career win plateau...Regional Champion....became the schools' first two-time
state champion...victory in state finals was the 200th of his
career....finishes 3rd on the career wins list, 3rd on the career tournament
championship list, 4th on the career pins list...set the school and Forsyth
County record for consecutive wins with 122 straight...finished season with a
57-0 record.
2008-09:
Took 1st at the Old Appalachian Invitational…Upperweight MOW of the
Parkland Duals…1st at WRAL where he also won the Most Falls in Least
Amount of Time Award…1st at the King of the Mat where he recorded
his 100th career victory…MOW of Knightdale Duals where he went 8-0,
to include a hardfought 5-2 victory over #2 ranked Dalton Parker of
Kellam….finished 1st at the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County
Championships…surpassed Mike Imes’ previous school record for consecutive
matches won of 49…finished first at Regionals…won the 3A 160 Lbs. State
Championship and ran his record to 65-0!
2007-08:
Took 2nd at the Old Appalachian Invitiational….3rd at WRAL…3rd
at King of the Mat, with his loss coming at the hands of defending State
Champion Mike Williams of Southern Lee in the semifinals by a score of 4-2…1st
at Winston-Salem/Forsyth Championships….1st at the Sarah Wilkes
Invitational….Regional Runner-Up….Finished 4th at the State
Tournament….finished the year with a 65-7 record with all 7 losses coming at
the hands of three opponents, Justin
Guthrie of Enka (3rd at States), Mike Williams of Southern Lee (2nd
at States & 2007 State Champion), and Marcus Blue of High Point Andrews
(Two Time State Champion).
2006-07: Spot starter on Varsity…one match short of
qualifying for the State Tournament….9th/10th Grade State
Champion at 160 Lbs….Finished the season with a 13-3 record…NHSCA
All-American.
