Three State Champs for the Three-Peat!
Parkland put five wrestlers into the finals, three of which won their weights, on the way to win their third straight 3A State Tournament!

130- Jovontae Coleman- DNP
135- Brian Thompson- 2nd Place
140- Luis Ramos- 1st Place
145- Marcus Cain- 5th Place

Mustangs Send Nine to States!
Nine Parkland wrestlers qualified for the State Tournament this weekend, to include five who won Regional championships. The nine who will represent Parkland at next weekends State Championships are:
112- Antwan Davis (Regional Runner-Up)
125- Chris Rivas (Regional Champion)
130- Jovontae Coleman (Regional 4th)
135- Brian Thompson (Regional 3rd)
140- Luis Ramos (Regional Champion)
145- Marcus Cain (Regional Champion)
152- DeSean Grimes-Hines (Regional Champion)
160- Marciano Ali (Regional Champion)
215- Marquez McDuffie (Regional 4th)
Parkland finished the Regional tournament in first place with 210 Points, outdistancing second place Trinity.
Parkland Three-Peat!
Parkland dismissed Dudley in typical Mustang fashion last night to claim it’s third straight 3A Dual Championship. Now the Mustang’s attentions turn to the Regional and State Individual Tournaments, where the Mustangs are also looking for a three-peat!
Parkland into Finals!
Parkland beat Trinity & Saint Stephens to move on to the 3A State Dual Finals Saturday at Dudley. Start time is scheduled for 6 PM!
Parkland Moves On!
Parkland beat Anson County 69-7 to advance to the third round of the 3A State Dual Playoffs. The time/date & location of the next two rounds has yet to be determined. I’ll post that information as soon as it’s available.
Congrats to Coach Atwood, the win was his 200th as Parkland’s Head Coach!
Anson County-Parkland Rescheduled
The District Finals match between Anson County & Parkland that was suppose to take place last night has been rescheduled for Thursday the 5th at 6PM. Parkland will host the match.
There has been no word yet on the Sectional & Regional rounds, which got thrown into more chaos today when school was canceled in Union County today which meant Piedmont, who was in the pod that was scheduled for Wednesday night could not wrestle tonight.
We’ll post more information as it becomes available.
Weather Slows Mustangs
Parkland opened the State Duals with a 75-6 dismantling of Porter Ridge, but then weather got in the way of their second round match-up with Anson County as Coach Atwood was informed to return to Parkland. With school being canceled today, it’s likely that the match will be wrestled Thursday night before the 3rd round.
State Dual Brackets Released!
The State Dual brackets were released a few minutes ago and Parkland will face Porter Ridge in the first round of the State Duals, and then the winner of Charlotte Catholic-Anson County Tuesday night.
Conference Tournament Champs…Again!
Parkland went 5-0 at the Conference Dual Tournament to run their streak to 128 consecutive duals won, which is the 10th longest documented streak in National History.
The site is totally up to date. Parkland will next be in action in the first & second round of the 3A State Dual Playoffs Tuesday night, time and location will be posted as soon as the NCHSAA releases that information.

Streak to 122…and 3!
The Mustangs extended their winstreak to 122 consecutive duals with a victory over Conference foe Carver, and then became the first team to win three consecutive W-S/FC Tournament Championships!
Parkland can extend the streak to 123, and tie the 10th longest documented streak in national history with a win Wednesday against conference rival Andrews!
Parkland rolls Bobcats!
Parkland traveled to Glenn for a conference match and was victorious 66-6. The Mustangs are next in action this Saturday at Eastern Alamance in the Eagle Duals.
Parkland Victorious At Union Pines!
Parkland traveled to Union Pines High School this past Saturday for their dual tournament where they went 4-0 and ran their winstreak up to 115.
Next up is Conference Rival Glenn on the 15th!
Parkland Stampedes Cowboys!
The Mustangs hosted SW Guilford last night and moved to 2-0 in the Conference with a 73-6 victory. The win also pushes the dual win streak to 111. The Mustangs will next be in action Saturday at the Union Pines Duals.
