Parkland # 1, NW Guilford # 2
Unable to schedule their conference meet because of the weather, Parkland and NW Guilford will be Co-Conference Champions. Playoff seeding was determined by a coin flip which Parkland won. The Mustangs will likely be on the road the first night of state duals, as
the other members of their pod include a first round match up versus a wild card that will likely be either Olympic or Porter Ridge, and
Mooresville vs East Gaston.
Once it's known where the Mustangs will wrestle, and who they'll wrestle in the first round, we'll post that info!
Parkland Blanks Southwest Guilford
Parkland hosted conference foe Southwest Guilford and won 82-0. The win pushes Parkland's dual win-streak to 170. Antwan Davis
got his 100th career win during the match.
The Mustangs will next be in action, well, who knows with the weather. They could possibly wrestle NW Guilford Friday night for
the Conference title and then wrestle the conference tournament on Saturday...or they could wrestle NW Guilford on Saturday
and not have a conference tournament...or they could not have either match, which if happened Parkland and NW Guilford would
be Co-Conference Champions and seeding for the state dual playoffs would be determined by a coin flip.

Snow Cancels This Weeks Matches
The tournament this weekend at Douglas Byrd has been canceled due to the snowstorm that is expected, as has the dual with
Cape Fear tonight. Parkland will next be in action on Feb. 4th with the chance to clinch their 15th State Dual berth when
conference foe SW Guilford comes to town. Then on Feb. 5th, the Mustangs came claim their 5th straight conference
title with a win over NW Guilford before heading to the Conference Tournament on Feb. 6th. This year the conference
tournament will be an individual tournament. The Mustangs have won the last four PTC tournaments but those were
dual format.

will next be in action on Friday the 29th when they travel to Cumberland County to take on Cape Fear and then on
Saturday the 30th, they will compete in the Dirty Byrd Classic at Douglas Byrd High School.

Live Updates From Glenn Quad Tonight!
I'm going to attempt to post live updates from the matches tonight at they happen! Please bare with me as there's
a lot of variables that may slow this down or stop it from happening.
Parkland Competes In Glenn Quad Tonight!
Parkland will put their 166 dual win-streak on the line against three very formidable opponents tonight at the Glenn
Quad. First they'll face Jay M. Robinson, ranked #3 in 3A by RetroRankings.com's Coaches Poll. Then they'll face
4A Powerhouse Davie, which is ranked 4th in 4A by RetroRankings.com's Coaches Poll. And in the finale, they'll face
Green Hope, who isn't ranked but is currently 24-4.
Wrestling starts at 5:30 and admission is $5. Glenn is located off of Union Cross Road, and wrestling will be in the old gym.

Parkland Routs HP Central, Finishes 2nd at Fandetti-Richardson Brawl
On Friday night Parkland moved to 4-0 in Piedmont Triad Conference action with a 66-6 victory over High Point Central
which pushed the teams dual win-streak to 166. They then traveled to Tennessee on Saturday where they finished 2nd
at the Fandetti-Richardson Brawl. Results below:

Parkland Beats Top Ranked 3A Team 52-12!
Parkland competed in the Union Pines Duals where they won their first four matches by shutouts and advanced
to the final round of the day where they would face Union Pines Duals. This was a match-up of enormous proportions!
Parkland is ranked #1 in 4A by both Mat News and the Retro Rankings.com Coaches Poll, and Union Pines
is ranked#1 in 3A by both sources as well! Parkland ended up winning 10 of the 14 weight classes and rolled to a 52-12
victory which pushes the dual win-streak to 165.
Congrats to Parkland senior Marcos Quesada on his first Varsity victory!
